Whhuaaa!!I love it..

Its mouth-watering when I think about it..ooooooooh..ahhhhh..it is so yummy!!!

At times,I wish I were a village girl just because I want to eat fresh and ‘natural'(with no pesticides injected) RAW mangoes.. 🙂 🙂

During summer holidays,it was usual for my brother and I to pluck raw mangoes from the mango tree which was there right in front of our house..We used to eat it with salt..

But,always old is Gold..Since we stay away from our grandparents,these village recipes were unknown to both of us..During one vacation when my grand mom came home,she introduced us to one of the wonderful tastes on earth..

She sliced the raw mangoes;the one in which the seed has not formed yet,into small cubes..

Then..salt,chili powder and little oil are mixed to form a paste..

Like how we eat finger chips dipped in mayonnaise..dip these mango cubes in this chili powder paste and eat..

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..

Thats it..water just oozes from our mouths..Then for two days our favorite pastime was eating mangoes..burning our mouth..but still addicted to the taste..

But we were punished as the nature’s call made us sit in toilets for long.. 😦 😦

Another way in which I love eating raw mangoes is when soaked in water mixed with green chilly sliced vertically and salt..Soak it for a day or two..Then,now and then eat it;like we both used to do during the childhood..rush to the kitchen from play..open the cup board..take a spoonful of mangoes and gobble it 😛

Now,is your mouth-watering????

But somebody please give me ‘natural’ raw mangoes??? 😦 😦

NB : There is no rule that only pregnant women can eat raw mangoes 😛 😛 😛

What’s  your favorite food???

If we take the word count for the word “chicken” in the answer list,it may hit a century.

But when I answer this question,I can always see the other person’s mouth opened as big as they could open 😮  My favorite food is Tomato Curry!!!!

Now another 😮 from you???

This favorite dish is a two min dish in my home.It is easy for Mom to cook and give us.

Once i tried cooking it by myself.

Phew!!!It was not as tasty as what my Mother cooks.I made umpteen attempts but I failed to acheive the taste and aroma of my mother’s tomato curry.

Then I tried cooking it under the eyes of  my Mom;it didn’t work either.

That’s terrible!!! 😡 😡

I made my Mom cook it soon after my vain experiment.

Hurray 😀

It tasted different and yummy.But this is not fair because the ingredients I added matched exactly with what my Mom added in her curry.Still the result was different 😦 😦

The experiment is still going on and on and I have not yet succeeded.May be one day I will 🙂

Any way,you can also give a try to make my favorite dish and the recipe is as follows.

Ingredients:

Red Tomatoes – 3

Green Chilly – 2
Salt – Required for your taste

Coconut – 1 Cup

Cumin seeds – 1 teaspoon

Shallot – 3

Turmeric Powder – 1 Pinch

Chilly Powder – 1/2 Teaspoon

Coconut Oil – 2 tablespoons

Mustard – 1 Teaspoon

Curry Leaves – 1 Stem
 
Procedure :-

Cut the tomatoes into small pieces.Boil the green chilly (chopped in two pieces),tomatoes and salt with water.Grind coconut,cumin seeds,chilly powder,turmeric powder,shallots.
Add the mixture to the smashed tomatoes,let it boil and remove from fire.Heat the oil in a pan,splutter mustard seeds,add chopped shallots and curry leaves and sauté well.Pour this into the tomato curry.

You can have rice or chappathi or naan with the curry.Actually I don’t mind having this even with bread :D..
